Description
MMake sure you look up to the sky when fighting Fortunate Son! Staying out of reach of the opponent's weapon, Fortunate Son rains fire down on the enemy rendering them useless. Fortunate Son, named after the Revival 1969 anti-war song, was inspired by man's long history of looking to the skies with wonder, and after wonder, with weaponization. While more fragile than a typical robot, the design intent was to create a robot agile enough that it could never be hit by simple ground based opponents and would have a great advantage in ranged attacks. We were hoping to redefine the game into a new era of aerial warfare in NHRL.
Design
Fortunate Son was designed around the idea of a flying combat robot. Fortunate Son uses a drone as a base along with a rack and pinion slide mechanism to drop napalm on its enemies.
Trivia
- Fortunate Son is the first flying bot designed by CRC.
- If Fortunate Son was ever built, we would not be able to test him because we do not have anywhere to test napalm weapons safely.
- Fortunate Son was made in 2 hours.
